Targu Jiu CityApp is a tourist application used by both tourists and locals with various interests that are offered detailed information on most attractive POIs and events in the area, as well as on existing local services (accommodation, restaurants, bars, tourist info points and offices) or local news (city hall press reports).

The app uses the location to determine the distance to the POI around and while this app runs only.

The content is updated real-time and is continuously subject to improving in order to provide accurate and relevant info.

The current version of the Targu Jiu CityApp contains the following themes:
- Food & Drink: places in Targu Jiu that serve food and drinks;
- Citizen Service: the locations of city institutions;
- Tourist Info: the locations of tourist information centers of tourism agencies;
- Culture & Leisure: places in and around Targu Jiu that offer cultural and leisure activities;
- Shopping: locations of different shops in Targu Jiu;
- Accommodation: places in Targu Jiu city that offer accommodation to tourists;
- Press Report: news that can be found on the City Hall website;
- Events Calendar: events that take place in Targu Jiu city;
- Tourist Attractions: places that are worth visiting in and around Targu Jiu;
- Public Transport: information about the public transport in Targu Jiu.

All POIs contain relevant information (photos, text, address, telephone and cell phone number with the possibility to call using the call function of the device, email address with the possibility to send a message using the email function of the device, website, opening hours, location of the POIs shown on Google maps, routing options)

Alphabetical and by distance sorting options are implemented. Also, various filtering options are available, according to the type of POIs.

Language switch is available (Romanian, English) directly from the application.

RO.Târgu Jiu CityApp este o aplicaţie turistică destinată atât turiştilor, cât si localnicilor cărora le sunt oferite informaţii referitoare la cele mai atractive puncte de interes şi evenimente din zonă, la servicii (cazare, restaurante, baruri, puncte şi birouri de informaţii turistice) sau ştiri locale (comunicate de presă ale primăriei).

Serviciile de localizare sunt utilizate pentru a determina locatia punctelor de interes din jur si este utilizata doar in timpul functionarii ei.

Versiunea actuală de Târgu Jiu CityApp contine urmatoarele teme:
- Restaurante şi Baruri: locaţii in Târgu Jiu unde se poate servi masa;
- Servicii Publice: locaţii ale instituţiilor de interes public din Târgu Jiu;
- Turism: locaţii ale centrelor de informare turistică şi ale agenţiilor de turism;
- Cultura şi Timp liber: locaţiile din zona Târgu Jiu care oferă activităţi culturale şi de relaxare;
- Cumpărături: diverse magazine organizate pe categorii;
- Cazare: unităţile de cazare din Târgu Jiu;
- Comunicate de Presă: noutăţi oferite de pagina de web a primăriei;
- Calendar Evenimente: un calendar cu evenimentele ce vor avea loc în Târgu Jiu;
- Obiective Turistice: punctele de interes ce merită vizitate;
- Transport Public: informaţii despre transportul public în Târgu Jiu.

Toate punctele de interes conţin detalii precum: imagini, text, adresă, telefon/telefon mobil cu posibilitatea de apelare directă, adresa de email cu posibilitatea de a trimite mesaj folosind funcţia email a telefonului, website, orar, locaţie pe Google maps şi optiuni de navigaţie.

Toate elementele pot fi sortate alfabetic sau după distanţă. De asemenea, se pot folosi opţiuni de filtrare, în funcţie de tipul de punct de interes.

Aplicaţia se poate folosi în 2 limbi (Română, Engleză) care pot fi schimbate din menu-ul aplicaţiei.
